2010 Traditional against New Plymouth Boys' High School

Boys' High challenge the whole school in this year's Traditional, before Stream replies 700 strong.

Wednesday 30 June 2010: In an outstanding day, both First XI Football and First XV Rugby teams had solid wins over their counterparts from New Plymouth Boys' High School. Kicking off at 1pm, the First XI Football team were ahead 4-0 within twenty minutes including a nicely taken goal by Sam Dean and a penalty by Hamish Watson. Boys' strengthened their defence and came back strongly in the second half, scoring early to trail 4-1. Another well-taken goal by James Sheppard saw the score finish 5-1 to Stream. The 1.30 pm kickoff was preceded by a haka by the whole school, massed behind the First XV. Stream started strongly with a penalty by Aviata Silago and a try to Phillip Salevao within 15 minutes. Missed penalties by Boys', mixed with scrappy play from both sides saw the score still 8-0 at half-time. A fired up Stream came out after half-time with strong forward play and sharp backline passing to add tries by: Hayden Schrijvers from a James Perkinson chip; Ope Peleseuma out wide; Ope through the centre; and James Perkinson touching down after taking the ball in the air from a cross-field kick. A magnificent 35-0 win.
