Introduction to our Curriculum.

Curriculum @ Stream

This site provides all the necessary information to help you plan your course for next year and beyond.  Planning a course requires careful consideration and thought. Your selection of subjects for the following year holds significant importance because of the implications for future subject choices, requirements for tertiary study, and future career pathways.

At St Patrick’s, Silverstream we aim to provide a personalised programme that enables each student to achieve personal excellence. The College is accredited to the New Zealand Qualifications Authority to assess students against Unit Standards in a variety of subject areas.

We offer:

  • A diverse range of subjects, many of which allow the opportunity to earn NCEA credits through Achievement Standards
  • Some subjects are assessed using Unit Standards on the National Qualification Framework

Course Contributions

  • These are voluntary contributions that the College requests to enable us to deliver the curriculum over and above our operational funding.
  • The amounts for each subject are itemised and cover compulsory trips, workbooks, and other resources used in that subject.
  • There may be additional charges made for the cost of any extra-curricular or optional activities/resources or for Technology projects that a student may choose to make and keep to take home.

Guidance

  • Read the curriculum @ stream site carefully
  • Talk with your Tutor, Heads of Department, Teachers in charge of subjects, Deans, Mr Tait and Mrs Kurton (Careers Department) for further advice and guidance.
