Thursday 4 February 2010: At the first assembly of 2010, The Rector, Mr Philip Mahoney, presented the senior leaders to the school. James Scoon, 2010 Head Boy, extolled the virtues of participation and "doing your best". He was ably supported by the four Heads of House: Ben Rammell (Chanel); Brandon Tai (Patrick); Baden Adams (Marist); and Sam Dean (Trinity). This year also sees the introduction of a Boarding House, named Redwood, whose first Head of House is Ranapiri Logan.
Wednesday 3 February 2010: Stream's First XI Cricket team has retained the Old Boys' Cup with a comprehensive win over their brother school, St Pats Town. The first match of the 2010 Traditional season saw Stream win the toss and send Town into bat. Liam Higgins did the early damage taking 5-22 with Town eventually reaching 132. After a strong start, with Ben Rammell scoring 79, Town fought back to limit Stream to 200 all out. In the second innings, Liam Higgins and Henry Walsh reduced Town to 3-2, but a strong middle order saw Town through to 170. Needing 103 runs to win, a fantastic opening partnership of Sam Dean (49) and Matt Richardson (36 no) saw Stream ease to a nine wicket win. A great start to the year.
Friday 11 December 2009: The last hurrah for the school year was the Junior Prizegiving, recognising the achievements of our students in Years 9 and 10. The most coveted are the Gold and Silver Scholar Awards for the top students at each level. In Year 9, the Gold Scholar was a joint award for James Brabander and Ryan Wilmshurst, with the Silver Scholar awarded to Liam White. In Year 10, the Gold Scholar for 2009 was Thom Nguyen, with a joint Silver Scholar Award to Timothy Scanlan and Sean Stack.
Friday 4 December: Staff, Old Boys and Friends celebrated Des Boyle's 40 years of service to Stream on Friday evening. Stories came out about boys Des has taught over the years, his experiences as a coach and particularly his enjoyment of training boys for the Duke of Edinburgh Awards. The evening was highlighted by the inaugural presentation of the Felix Kane Cup for services to Silverstream by David Crombie.
Friday 4 December 2009: Stream's ranks were swelled today by 130 extra "students" as dads, uncles, grandads, and other significant males joined their sons for the Big Boys' Breakfast. The morning is a chance for fathers and sons to come together at school and, for some, it is a return to their own school days as Streamers. After the big boy's breakfast (baked beans, eggs, sausages and toast), entertainment was provided by Tim Gordon of
Wednesday 2 December 2009: "Belonging" was the theme for the 2009 Year 9 Retreat. Through a range of activities, students reflected on the history of the college and what it really means to "belong". Unfortunately, the much-anticipated swim in the College pool was abandoned due to inclement weather. The day finished with a Mass led by Father John Greally.
Friday 27 November 2009: Competitive fun was the order of the day as Year 9 and 10 students competed in their Houses in a variety of activities. After athletics finals in the morning, Benediction was held in the chapel, with teams then competing for titles in Touch Rugby and 10/10 Cricket. Meanwhile, the competition for Stream's Strongest Man was taking place. A fantastic day.
