Stream retains Old Boys' Cup in Cricket

Brandon Tai, captain of the First XI Cricket team, holds the Old Boys' Cup after their victory against Town.Wednesday 3 February 2010: Stream's First XI Cricket team has retained the Old Boys' Cup  with a comprehensive win over their brother school, St Pats Town. The first match of the 2010 Traditional season saw Stream win the toss and send Town into bat. Liam Higgins did the early damage taking 5-22 with Town eventually reaching 132. After a strong start, with Ben Rammell scoring 79,  Town fought back to limit Stream to 200 all out. In the second innings, Liam Higgins and Henry Walsh reduced Town to 3-2, but a strong middle order saw Town through to 170. Needing 103 runs to win, a fantastic opening partnership of Sam Dean (49) and Matt Richardson (36 no) saw Stream ease to a nine wicket win. A great start to the year.
