Friday 24 February 2012: With the New Year underway, one of the first things that we do as a Catholic Community is gather to celebrate Eucharist. One of the main foci of this year is that of belonging and that is the theme that ran through our Mass. We gather together as one and acknowledge the presence of God in each other; and as we did we were welcomed with the song ‘Receive the Power’ asking the Spirit to guide us. We carry with us a book – the Bible - which gives us inspiration and the theme of belonging was highlighted in the readings. From there on it was a time to give thanks. Our Head Boy, Aaron Conlon gave a very inspiring reflection on what it means to say ‘Sectare Fidem’, but, more importantly, what it means to do ‘Sectare Fidem’. It was so heartening to see how so many seniors stepped up and played an integral part of the organisation and celebration of our first mass. May we all feel that we belong not only to SPC but to the wider Christian community as well. Father John Greally
