Semi-Finals Time at Stream

Action from the Stream's Under-14 Grade leaders on Silverstream #1.Saturday 21 August 2010: Today, eight Stream rugby teams and two Stream football teams were playing at home to win a place in the Grade Finals next weekend. By the end of the day, eleven Stream teams had won through to their Grade Finals - eight rugby and three football. All Rugby Finals this year are being held at Stream this coming Saturday, 28 August. All Football Finals are at Rongotai on the same day. Come along and support our teams as they strive to the best in Wellington. In Palmerston North this Saturday, the First XV play Gisborne Boys' High for the right to play at the Secondary School Nationals.

Mass of the Assumption

The Mass of the Assumption is celebrated in the School Chapel.Friday 13 August 2010: Formally attired and singing with pride, the College Chapel was filled for today's Mass of the Assumption. Led by Father John Greally, the welcome was read by Philip Salevao. As the procession entered the Chapel, students sang Mo Maria while the school Chaplain, Mrs Chanel Wright, sang the karanga. The first Reading was by Head Boy, James Scoon. In his lesson, Father John compared the philosophy and teachings of Mary to those of a recent visitor to the school, acclaimed artist Michel Tuffery. In his work with the students, Michel offered students his own work and encouraged them to draw out of it their own ideas: Mary's life offers students her "work" from which they can also draw their own understandings and revelations about their faith.

Victor Vito Speaks to Stream's Polynesian Students

Thursday 12 August 2010: "Make your own plan, because you don’t want to a part of someone else’s plan" were the wise words of current All Black Victor Vito. Today, Pacific Island students had the privilege of listening to both Victor Vito (All Black) and Fa’asalele Malo (Architect) as part of a Motivational Presentation for Pacific Island students. The emphasis of this presentation was on the importance of Education, especially secondary school education. Both speakers spoke about their experiences during their time in college and stressed the importance of making the most of resources available in school. Malo and Vito were able to relate to the pacific perspective of sport versus school and gave knowledgeable advice on balancing both sport and education. (Written by Ben Chan and Aniseko Sio)
