Procedures for Enrolling for 2012
Key Dates Open Day - Thursday 5 May 2011 at 2pm “Try Boarding Weekend” – 28-29 May 2011 Enrolment Applications to be returned to the College - Friday 8 July 2011
The enrolment process begins this year (2011). We do not pre‐enrol students. Firstly, parents attend Open Day which is Thursday 5 May 2011. The Rector addresses prospective parents and boys in the College Chapel. Parents and boys are invited to tour the College campus and to join the Rector and senior staff for an informal chat and light refreshments in the Auditorium. The website will publish exact times nearer the date.
“Try Boarding Weekends” are available on 28 and 29 May 2011 and there may be a further weekend in June. This is free of charge and it is an opportunity for boys to familiarise themselves with the Boarding School and to meet other prospective boarders.
All prospective parents are handed an information pack on Open Day containing: an Application for Admission; Preference Certificate (signed by your Parish Priest); and the Enrolment Scheme. Completed and signed applications to be returned to the College by Friday 8 July.
An offer of a place will be made to successful candidates at the end of July, and a limited amount of time is allowed for completion and return of the Boarding Contract and Confirmed acceptance for Boarders and confirmed acceptance for Day Boys, which must be signed by the parents/guardians and the candidate.
Following receipt of a completed and signed Boarding Contract and/or acceptance, the student will be placed on the College's roll, and will begin receiving advice of the detailed arrival procedures that need to be completed before the commencement of the first year at the College.
In November, all preference students who have accepted a place for entry in Year 9 are invited to sit a Scholarship Examination for either boarding or day scholarships.
Day Boys Around the middle of November, all boys who have accepted a place for entry in Year 9 are required to sit a Levels Test at the College. This allows classes to be created for the commencement of the New Year. All boys will be placed in one of the Houses and an orientation evening for parents and sons will be held.
Boarders An orientation weekend is held in November during which a Levels Test will be completed and boarders and parents will have the opportunity to meet with House Deans and the Director of Boarding.
