St Patrick’s College Silverstream a Catholic, Marist CollegeGraduation Mass

Our values are centered on Gospel principles: mercy, compassion, integrity, forgiveness and tolerance.

These are values we hold dearly as a College, and strive to impart to our students.

All boarders attend Mass on Sunday evenings, led by our Chaplain Father John Greally.

Students are fully involved in these Masses, whether serving, reading, playing in the Chapel band, or presenting the Gospel in drama. Parents and family are most welcome to celebrate with us.

Boarders also have a short prayer opportunity each evening. This is led by the students, with the opportunity to pray for individuals, families, and issues of concern around the world.

Opportunities for service and leadership within the spiritual side of the College are available to students.Crosses

Young men reaching their God-given potential

The College motto, sectare fidem - hold fast to the faith, is presented to the boys as a challenge, as well as an active and living demand that underpins College life.

Father Colin, the founder of the Marist order, had this to say on educating young men:

“To bring up a man – what a sublime work this is. These are God’s children who are confided to us. It is towards God that we must direct their hearts by a constant application on our part to provide them with sound rules to guide them, and with good example which they may follow.

"What takes first place is the concern we have for our pupils. We will make a particular study of the character of each pupil and attempt to gain his confidence in order to better lead him to the Lord and help him more effectively with his work. We will treat our pupils with kindness, gentleness, civility and fairness.”

With this in mind, staff work to enable each boy to reach his God-given potential.
