 Welcome to St Patrick’s College Silverstream. We are a Catholic and Marist boys’ college, catering for both day and boarding students. Our roll is capped at 720, and there is high demand for places. We strive to deliver an exceptional 21st Century Education for our boys, grounded in Catholic values and based on our core values of respect, mercy, tolerance and compassion. Our Special Character permeates everything we do. Staff are highly qualified and bring great passion to their teaching as they seek to challenge and extend all students to achieve to their full potential. Staff place special value on their relationships with students, and the pastoral system supports the building of a community of learning. Students are very proud of their school. They consider themselves to be a family, a band of brothers, who care for and support each other. Excellence across all disciplines is celebrated. Academic achievement is high. In 2010 81% of Y13 students achieved Level 3 of NCEA, significantly above national norms. We are the current Wellington champions in rugby, football and cricket. Our vision is that boys who come through our gates will grow into young men who are well-read and literate, discerning in thought and action, fit and healthy, kind, respectful, tolerant and compassionate, have an appreciation of Tikanga Māori, an awareness of our place in the Asia-Pacific region, and who are ready to take their place in the world as the best possible version of what God has created The College has magnificent buildings and grounds, and has big plans for the future.
